Eindhoven Airport: Convenient (and easier!) than Schiphol

Eindhoven Airport is a convenient and friendly option if you’re planning a trip. It’s less crowded often cheaper than Schiphol.

An introduction to Eindhoven Airport

When I’m looking for a getaway, I take my time. Sometimes spending an entire weekend exploring different destinations. Eindhoven Airport often comes up as one of my starting points when comparing travel options for especially city trips. I like that its smaller and often cheaper than Schiphol.

You can enjoy shops, restaurants, and relaxing lounges at the airport. It has everything you need and it is not too fancy.

Eindhoven Airport is located just west of the city, close to the A2 and A67 motorways, making it easy to reach from much of the southern Netherlands and Belgium. The airport is particularly popular during the holiday season for flights to sunny destinations, often serving as a smaller, faster alternative to Schiphol.

Why Eindhoven Airport? It’s often more relaxed than Schiphol and offers plenty of low-cost flight options.

How to Reach Eindhoven Airport

The airport is well connected by public transport and easily accessible by car. Late at night, when buses run less frequently, a taxi is the most reliable option.

Eindhoven Airport is situated close to major highways and offers convenient access for travelers driving from across the Netherlands, Belgium and the West of Germany. Ample parking is available for both short- and long-term stays, allowing you to start your trip at your own pace.

Direct Bus Connection to Eindhoven City and Eindhoven Central trainstation

Please keep in mind that the Netherlands has an excellent public tranportation system. The airport does not have its own train station, but frequent bus services connect it to Eindhoven Central trainstation in about 20 minutes. From there, you can travel onwards to cities across the Netherlands and beyond. Bus stops are right outside the terminal, offering an affordable and efficient way to reach your flight.

The bus is great if you have one set of luggage per person. You are better off taking a taxi from Eindhoven City Center towards the Airport if you have got a lot of luggage with a bunch of people. You can split the cab fare then. Luggage in train is fine, but it is such a pain to place a bunch of them in a crowded bus. However, cab fares are expensive in the Netherlands, even for short rides.

Parking at the Airport

Eindhoven Airport offers several parking areas to suit different needs. Short-term parking is just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, making it perfect for pick-ups and drop-offs. Long-term parking is available at competitive rates.

Is Eindhoven Airport open at night?

No, Eindhoven Airport is not open at night. It will close after the last flight arrival and will open up again in the early morning. Hence, it is not possible to sleep at the airport for the following morning.
